THE HIGHWAYMEN

THE HIGHWAYMEN

A tribute to the outlaws of country

Collectively as THE HIGHWAYMEN, the quartet has a unique connection to Australians that has only strengthened over the last two decades. THE HIGHWAYMEN toured Australia in 1991 and 1995, playing Newcastle, Adelaide, Sydney, Melbourne, Perth and Brisbane, attracting hundreds of thousands to their concerts and appearances and generating an excitement rivalled only by that of the Beatles.

Now, a Canadian born International performer and producer Dale Platz – along with Graham Jensen, Gary LeGear, has recreated the magic that is THE HIGHWAYMEN.

The show features a great musicianship with pedal steel guitar, acoustic and electric guitars, drums, banjo, mandolin, fiddle and harmonica. THE HIGHWAYMEN tribute show is a musical and visual re-creation – right down to their desert backdrop and the trademark rifle coats. This level of professionalism has really hit the mark with the audiences.

It is the only genuine, touring HIGHWAYMEN show in the Southern Hemisphere.

All THE HIGHWAYMEN’s: Great songs are included: ”Silver Stallion”,”Live Forever”,”THE HIGHWAYMEN” and many more, along with individual classics like “Luckenback Texas”, “On the road again”, “Folsom prison blues”, “Ring of Fire” and “Help me make it through the night” – 40 classic songs in all.

As Waylon Jennings once said in an interview about THE HIGHWAYMEN – “it’s all about the songs”.

The Gympie Youth Art Project

The Gympie Youth Art Project presents self-devised film and drama created by Gympie youth, celebrating our community. What is community? Is it simply, like family, the people we find ourselves living among through chance or the random choices we make?

Memories in the Dolls House (and other alternative facts) is a play about just that – random people sharing three units, side by side, going about their lives. But is there something different about this community? Why is the same painting in each unit? A painting of a dolls house filled with odd pieces of memorabilia.
Why do things keep disappearing from the units? Is something more sinister occurring in this community? Or are some of the residents simply being paranoid? The truth may surprise you.

Good Morning Gympie will turn the camera on our town and give a fly on the wall documentary of our community.
Put it all together, and you have original comedy, documentary, mystery and thought-provoking drama.
